biography

As a relative newcomer to painting, Estelle is excited to have a creative space in which to explore her own practice. She responds intuitively to rugged, wild landscapes which remind her of her rural childhood and to the urban sprawl of her chosen home of Bristol; trying to capture her emotional responses is fundamental to the way she works . The immediacy and spontaneity of painting and drawing outdoors are where her heart lies; experimenting with different mediums and playing with abstraction. Always starting with gestural, loose marks then endeavouring to maintain that energy and freedom in her final pieces. With the gift of her own creative space, she intends to define a more consistent practice, develop her technical skills, and push herself out of her comfort zone.
